Review of Environmental Factors - Camden Valley Way Upgrade and Liz Kernohan Drive Extension (Final) - Flipbook - Page 712
Proposed Works
Camden Council had previously nominated a dual lane roundabout control at Camden Valley Way / Hilder Street
and traffic control signals at Camden Valley Way / Kirkham Lane / Liz Kernohan Drive extension as their preferred
method of control. This assessment provides confirmation of these treatments and a suitable geometric layout for
the 2036 future scenario.
The modelling undertaken by Seca Solution assumes that the traffic signals at Camden Valley Way / Kirkham Lane
/ Liz Kernohan Drive intersection will be completed concurrently, or prior to the Camden Valley Way / Hilder Street
roundabout.
The assumption is required as the Liz Kernohan Drive extension will draw traffic away from Hilder Street, thus
reducing the volumes of turning traffic. The scope of this project did not include 2036 modelling of Camden Valley
Way / Hilder Street without the Liz Kernohan Drive extension.
However, it is evident from the modelling outputs (Figure 10) that there is adequate capacity in the 2036 scenario
to accommodate increases in turning traffic, that would eventuate if the Liz Kernohan Drive is not in place.
