5.1 The Proposed Works
The proposed works consist of modifications to be made to Camden Valley Way at the intersection of
Kirkham Lane, as well as a connection south of this intersection to the northern end of Liz Kernohan Drive.
The plans for the proposed works are overlaid on aerial imagery on Figure 3, and the proposed works plans
have been attached to this report as Appendix 1.
The proposed works will encroach upon the curtilage of the Yamba and 8Rheinbergers Hill9 local heritage
items, in the southwestern portion of the Yamba Curtilage, and the north-western portion of the
8Rheinbergers Hill9 curtilage, where they are adjacent to the road reserve of Camden Valley Way.
5.1.1 Analysis of proposed works9 details
The proposed works will include a significant amount of landscaping and some cut-and fill of embankments
and road verges alongside Camden Valley Way in the direction of the Kirkham Lane intersection, from the
northern approach. These landscaping efforts will entail the removal of fencing and vegetation alongside
the road.
The re-surfacing of older roads, and creation of new roads south towards Liz Kernohan Drive will also entail
excavation, landscaping and the installation of services according to plans provided. It is noted that in much
of the southern part of the subject area previous development works have partially completed these tasks.
The proposed works will include the removal of playing fields and re-routing the non-perennial stream
which has been recently provided with a more defined route.
The proposed works changes will be conducted in close proximity to the degraded southern structure of
the Yamba heritage item.
