4.5 Statement of Cultural Significance for the Subject Area
The subject area, while it navigates between the curtilages of two heritage items, and through the
disappearing former agricultural landscape of the Nepean floodplain near Camden, does not hold any
particular historical value. The road reserve of Camden Valley Way, which follows the former Hume
Highway9s route from Camden to Narellan, does not show any particular relationship with this alignment,
and has been substantially modified over time. The subject area, which consist of this road reserve and
former agricultural lands, has a very low chance for archaeological potential, and has been severely
disturbed by ongoing transformative processes. The subject area holds no special connection to previous
historical figures or local social or community groups, and is a functional space used for transit through the
landscape.
