4.2 Current Statements of Significance
The two identified heritage items within the subject area have been previously assessed for heritage
significance as part of the listing process. These statements are presented on the State Heritage Inventory
(SHI) listing sheets for these items. It is noted that while these assessments will add to the understanding of
these items9 significance, they may be outdated or lacking in specific information needed to understand
their relationship to the subject area9s significance.

Table 5: Assessment Criteria and Significance Assessment
Heritage NSW Criteria
Assessment
Criterion (a) Historical Significance: an item is
important in the course, or pattern, of NSW9s
cultural or natural history (or the local area)
The cottage 8Yamba9 is an example of the smaller
scale farming of the Nepean floodplain which
began in the early 20th Century and is important in
illustrating the landscape surrounding the Hume
Highway route of this period. This item meets this
criterion at a local level of significance.
