Plate 5: 1989 historical aerial of the subject area showing the positions of 8Yamba9 (Yellow Arrow) and
8Rheinbergers Hill9 (Red Arrow) indicated, providing an indication of change of use of these properties (source: NSW
Spatial Services).
The 1989 historical imagery of the subject area shows some changes to the use of the properties which
seems to show that cultivation is no longer being undertaken at these sites. The amount of vegetation has
increased at 8Rheinbergers Hill9, which is almost overgrown with the formerly maintained screening hedges.
The imagery shows that outbuildings and formerly managed cultivated areas have also overgrown and are
no longer actively employed. It is unclear whether this property is occupied in 1989 from this image. The
8Yamba9 also property in this image also shows that agricultural elements are either no longer present
(orchards surrounding the house) or maintained (the outbuildings to the north of the main house. The
formerly cultivated farmlands near to Kirkham Lane are not under crops in this image but have lain fallow.
The presence of development in the lower part of the image shows the increase of suburban development
around the subject area, and the fact that the Camden to Narellan rail line has now been removed is
worthy of note.
