Review of Environmental Factors - Camden Valley Way Upgrade and Liz Kernohan Drive Extension (Final) - Flipbook - Page 638
shows that this area was used at this time for cultivated farming. The route of the Narellan to Camden
railway line is visible to the north of the 8Yamba9 property, and this route crosses Kirkham Lane in parallel to
Camden Valley Way. The location of 8Rheinbergers Hill9 cottage is visible to the south of Camden Valley
Way, and the driveway, screening vegetation surrounding the northern side of the house, and a series of
outbuildings/structures to the south of the house (potentially beehives or chicken coops). The lands
surrounding the identifiable structures are used for cultivation, with the non-perennial stream located
within the subject area opposite Kirkham Lane visible as a much less well-defined water course.
Plate 3: 1960 historical aerial of the subject area showing the positions of 8Yamba9 (Yellow Arrow) and
8Rheinbergers Hill9 (Red Arrow) indicated, which shows a continued development and occupation of these sites
(source: NSW Spatial Services).
The 1960s historical aerial (Plate 3) shows a continued occupation of the two sites described above, with
the railway line still visible, and a small increase in development associated with both 8Yamba9 and
8Rheinbergers Hill9. The subject area is still mostly represented by cultivated farmlands in this location.
