1.2 Project Background
Monteath and Powys Pty Ltd (M&P), on behalf of Camden Council, engaged Niche Environment and
Heritage Pty Ltd (Niche) to assess potential heritage impacts which could arise from proposed roadworks at
Camden Valley Way near Kirkham Lane (the Subject Area, as defined above). The proposed works are
designed to facilitate traffic volumes along Camden Valley Way, as well as to formalise the road network
which link Liz Kernohan Drive and new development of parkland areas around the Subject Area.
1.3 Objectives
This report, which is a Statement of Heritage Impact assessment (SoHI), will evaluate the significance of the
subject area, by identifying associated heritage value connected with this landscape. The report will then
assess potential impacts to this heritage value, and present management measures as appropriate in
response to the proposed works.
1.4 Methodology
This SoHI has been prepared in accordance with the principles and methodology contained in The Burra
Charter: The Australia ICOMOS Charter for Places of Cultural Significance (2013) and in accordance with the
best practice standards set out by the Heritage NSW. The relevant best practice guidelines include:
