Review of Environmental Factors - Camden Valley Way Upgrade and Liz Kernohan Drive Extension (Final) - Flipbook - Page 33
4.9.4
Episodic Risks
Episodic risks such as bushfire, coastal hazard, flooding, extreme weather events can have minor
impacts on the proposal and result in additional impacts on the environment in combination with the
proposed activity. As part of the activity, a Construction Environment Management Plan is to be
development to detail methods for mitigating episodic risks as well as construction method to reduce
bushfire hazard risks. Materials
The proposal would require the following materials (but not limited to):
•
Stormwater drainage pipes.
•
Concrete for kerb, gutter and pits.
•
•
Traffic signal posts and other accessories.
Fill material (volumes to be established as part of construction management plan).
•
Ground cover (e.g., turf).
•
Trees.
•
Sediment and erosion control devices.
4.9.5
Traffic Management and Access
Traffic would be managed in accordance with the RMS Traffic Control at Worksites Manual and
through an approved traffic management plan. To avoid major congestion, lane closures would
largely occur during off-peak periods and in consultation with the local traffic commander. Further,
a reduced speed limit will be in place for the duration of works. Prior notice and updates will be
provided to motorists and other users via temporary roadside mobile signs located in strategic
locations.
4.9.6
Ancillary Facilities
It is proposed to use parts of Lot 1 DP 914674 and Lot 301 DP 1143646 as the project’s storage and
stockpiling area. However, detailed plans for the laydown areas have not been provided at this stage.
It is anticipated that these details will be identified in the construction environmental management
plan. These areas will only operate for the duration of construction.
Full details of any associated structures in this location are not yet known, and it is assumed that
they can be undertaken under the exempt development provisions. As noted previously a further
assessment will be required if the scope of works exceed the provisions of exempt development
pathway.
To the extent practicable, any stockpiling should be established, operated and decommissioned in
accordance with the recommended work practices contained in the Waste management guideline
2023 and the Transport Stockpile Site Management Guideline, and the requirements of ‘Managing
Urban Stormwater: Soils and construction – Volume 1’ (the Blue Book). All works on Lot 1 DP914674
should maintain a minimum separation of 40m from the drainage line on the site
4.9.7
Public Utility Adjustment
Several utility infrastructure relocations, adjustments and / or protection will be required as part of
the project. The available ground survey indicates that there are a significant number of services on
both sides of Camden Valley Way and connecting side streets.
For the Hilder Street roundabout project these include water and sewer, power poles and overhead
power lines. One power pole will require removal as it is located within that area identified to
accommodate the roundabout. The design and relocation of is to be in accordance with the
requirements of the Energy Australia approval. Further, the proposed development plans do not
indicate the removal of reticulated water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure as part of the
