Review of Environmental Factors - Camden Valley Way Upgrade and Liz Kernohan Drive Extension (Final) - Flipbook - Page 15
Location of Works
Figure 2: Site Plan (MetroMap, 2023)
The Camden Valley Way / Hilder Street intersection is currently configured as a ‘seagull’. Based on
an analysis of this intersection turning right from Camden Valley Way into Hilder Street in the
morning peak is difficult.
Liz Kernohan Drive is designed to extend northwards from its current terminus and intersect with
Camden Valley Way and Kirkham Lane. Currently the west-bound carriageway of Camden Valley
Way at this intersection includes a right turning lane into Kirkham Lane. No left turning or right
turning lanes into or out of Kirkham Lane currently exist. Kirkham Lane is a two-way road which
takes on rural road type qualities in design and appearance.
Pursuant to the Camden Local Environmental Plan 2010, the site of the activity is located primarily
within zone SP2 Infrastructure (Classified Road). Where the road widening and ancillary works
extend beyond the existing road reserve boundary, these areas comprise land in zone RE1 Public
Recreation (south of Camden Valley Way) and RU1 Primary Production and R5 Large Lot Residential
(north of Camden Valley Way). Figure 3 provides the zoning context of the proposed road upgrades.
